I left a company after working for over 4 years in Feb 2007, on exit-rentry visa & did not return to Saudi & tendered my resignation through mail which was accepted. I have another offer in Saudi now.
Can I go back after 1.4 years without requiring an NOC. What is the ban period for such a case? Appreciate your answer!

I am an expatriate working in saudi arabia for the last 10 years. The sponsorers in private companies in saudi arabia are treating their employees like slaves even in this year of 2008.
the employee cannot do anything, like going to his home country on official leave or vacation or even at a time of emergency like if one of his family member is sick or dead without the permission of his sponsorer because the employees` passport is held with the sponsorer and the passport office will not stamp a visa without the signatures of the sponsorer. sometimes the employees are treated like animals[particularly female workers] they are lockedup in their rooms for more than two to three months. the employers even dont pay the salaries . if the employee wants to go back to his country he/she will not be allowed to do so.
so kindly take some action about this by informing the international agencies and bringing reforms and freedom in employment in saudi arabia.

Respected Sir, on 2006, september 17th I landed here as a computer operator. since then I have been working without a single compalin. Actually i have a 3 years of contract and My signature is there in the company file in the contract paper. but I have heard that after completion of 2 years he/she can go back to his own country … when I asked about this two management people that i wanna go after two years, then they say that I have to pay more than 3000 riyal for visa charge, iquma charge. plane fare and this and that .. is that reallly true. 1) what will be my benefit calculation that i draw SR-2800 (as a Basic SR-2000+Fixed bonus SR-600+Food all SR-200)
2) Is it compulsory to obtain NOC from the present employer for comming back to Saudi Arabia? or what will be the other way if the employer refuse to give NOC?

One of the saudi firm contacted me for the post of IT manager (buradah). they have sent me the agreement letter. I am not sure what kind of rights I have while working in KSA. I am married and my visa status would be “family”. I want to know that who would bear the expenses for me and my family for first time traveling, visa processing fee and commisson of job agent here in Pakistan.

Filipino here, am just almost a month old in KSA. When I asked for when is my salary pay(ratif), my employer told me that for a newcomer like me, I won’t be receiving salary for 3months(like am on probation). He says its the new labor law, am printing now the file and will read later when I go home. Hope someone here could enlightn me. thank you.

Well I have no Idea if it is true based on the new saudi labor law. But during my 2nd company here in Saudi Arabia I also have this 3 mos delayed but the excuse then was because of ” pondo ” raw but when I got home they paid it in full.

I agree with our kabayan tungkol sa pondo, shit happens! I’m familiar with the term pondo, noong kumuha ako ng tao sa pinas, i stipulated it, mahirap na ako pa masisi, its a company policy ika nga, kasi pag di ka gumana dito, ang pondo mo ang maging pamasahe mo pag uwi. Mostly specially sa construction, dalawa lng daw ang company dito, yung delay magpasahod at ayaw magpasahod.

btw, after arguing/battling it with my employer, i finally received my salary, i remained diplomatic while arguing(helped alot, so guys & gals don’t freak out), explained reasons(i.e. how can i live here in ksa w/o allowance, salary for 3mos, and so on and so forth)

I dont know if you can help me my husband is in dammam his he applied as a graphic artist, his been there since july of this year, first the salary his employer is giving him is below what is in the contract,second his employer is obligating him to be a graphic artist, salesman, technician,marketing and as a secretary. lastly his working 15 hrs. strait without overtime pay. now my question is what should he do, can he go to labor for this reason, is he allowed to change employer without leaving saudi for this reason, I rally hope to hear from you soon and really hoping that you can help us. thank you very much for taking time in reading this message….

Dear friends, for pakistan, this is only on paper that NOC is waived. For Pakistan, a worker who already worked in Saudi Arab, has to produce NOC while applying for VISA in Saudi Embassy. I just recently observed my friends applying for visa both from pakistan and behrain on pakistani passport and they were asked for NOC. This can be true other countries, but for pakistani passport holders, NOC has to be submitted for getting work visa if the holders previously worked in KSA. Regards

In our company if your years of service is below five years you will entitle for a service benefit off only 33% of the total benefit due. Example Employee A worked for 4 years with salary of 2000. his benefit would only be (2000×4/2)x33%=1320. but in the case if he is terminated he can get 4000 SR . Is the computation correct or not? I am here in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. This Haj holiday our company declare Dec 8 to Dec 12 working holiday in project site so we can claim over time from it, no doubt about that. But what confuses me is that, the other project which is in the south west part of Saudi, I have learned from my previuos colleague that (we are working on same company but of different project site) declared Dec 11 and 12 only thus they can only claim two days over time. My question is. What are the basis of declaring Hajj holidays? Is the company has the power to declare the number of days? Is there any basis from saudi labor law?

I have been working with a Co. in Saudi Arabia for last 7 years. I am a Pakistani national and married to a women with saudi nationality. My company wants me to sign a contract for 18 months which says that in case of leaving the company during the contract period, i can not work with a direct competitor of the company for next 18 months after resignation. Is this clause in the contract legally forceable. Now please guide me whether i should sign this contract or not. Does having a saudi national wife exempt me from this “No competitor clause” of this contract.

Hi There do you know what the rule is for NOC letter. I left KSA on exit visa in 2005 September and went to work in Bahrain. Now I am back in Canada for 9 months and want to work back in KSA. So it has been 3 years and 8 months since I left KSA… I left without a NOC letter.

We have the following questions that we need an answer as per Saudi Labor Law that’s applicable to us Filipinos working here in Saudi Arabia.
1. Deduction – we were hired from the Philippines and placement fee will be deducted from our salary as we understand as per our agency in the Philippines. Placement fee is equivalent to one month salary. We arrived last February of 2009, and we are now 4 months here and we did not get our salary for one month, is that considered to be our deduction?
2. Overtime – our overtime rendered for February, March and April are not paid yet it’s now June 2009 and the company has not paid us our overtime. What should we do?
3. IQAMA – It has been 4 months already but our Iqama has not been issued yet, all we have is our temporary Iqama. What should we do?

I just want to ask and need to know,if i go exit/vacation and my current employeer refuse to give an NOC,they just give only the emplyeement certificate could i coming back soon in saudi for new Company? if not? how many months allowed to come back in saudi with out NOC clearance?

i Would like to know that if the person got increment in salary this year but is vacation is due & he applied for vacation so i want to know the calculation of vacation salay based on new salary or old salary and how it is calculated.

Ussually in our company .. They are giving based on the your salary when you are due vacation.. So when you are due January but you get the increment on February you cannot get the increment calculation. but it will be available on your next vacation

ive looking for this for quite some time coz, me and my wife had just transfered company and they are somewhat exploiting us, i just dont know where theyre exploitation falls against the labor law, anayway thanks a alot God Bless you and more power!

JUST RECENTLY OUR MANAGER ASKED US TO RETURN EXCESS OVERTIME PAY WHICH WE RECEIVED LAST YEAR .FOR REGULAR DAILY OVERTIME OF 1HR/DAY THAT WE CALCULATED ON 1.5/HR AND DURING EID OF RAMADAN AND HAJJ WHICH WE CALCULATED AS DOUBLE PAY .WE WORKED 4HRS/DAY DURING RAMADAN AND HAJJ EID AND WE CLAIMED AS FULL DAY . IN WHAT I READ IN YOUR COPY OF SAUDI LABOR LABOR FOR THE REGULAR OVERTIME ITS OK BUT DURING HAJJ AND RAMADAN EID NOTHING WAS WRITTEN AS DOUBLE PAY. DO WE HAVE TO CALCULATE EID OVERTIME AS 1.5 AND NOT AS DOUBLE PAY? PLEASE REPLY

is it true that there is a new law about the annual vacation of laborers? presently, a laborer has a 15 days/year vacation & he can enjoy it after a year with a total of 30 days/2 yrs.. the new law says, a laborer can enjoy 30 days/yr.
if this is true, a lot of expats will be happy about this new law.

My ex.employer not issued me NOC I requested them but they refused.

I worked from july 25, 2006 – july 25, 2009 (3 years contract) in saudi arabia. 1 month before my 3 years contarct will expire my boss give me another contract (2 years). the 2 years contract will take effect once i come back. but 2 days after i signed the 2 years contract i send mail and i inform personally that i will not come back to him.
My question: how long should i stay here in philippines before i can go back in saudi.

For your kind information it is my own experience I have completed my 2 years contact with my previous employer in KSA on 15.6.2008.And come back on final exit to Pakistan.
Now I have join an other company and I have also got new Saudi Arabia Work Visa on 17th August 2009.Now no need NOC for Pakistan it has come to my experience and knowedge.

We have this memo written their that we non-muslim are required to work for 8hrs during this ramadan without any over paid only for those muslim who are having the fasting can have the 6hrs working hours onfaward 6hrs consider over time. According to that memo this is written on saudi labor law, is it true sir? Because i’ve been working in this company for almost 3 years and i’ve been receiving twice payment for the 2hrs over time for ramandan but suddenly now they give this memo, do we the right to complaint about it sir? thanks and regards

I have a contract and I am being terminated on policy of redundancy by the company.
wages : my wages comprise of basic + housing + transport. Housing and car being provided by the company.
I have leave encashment 23 days. The calculation is being made
23/ 30 x basic salary. Where as in past I am told that it was 23/26 days of work ( friday holiday ) x wages ( basic + housing value + conveyance value )
This was the way it was being paid in past – But a new HR Manager is reducing the wage to just basic.
Is this correct ?

i working last 14 years one limited co. every vacation co. provide 15 days vacation mony and 15 days service bonas.so now 2years 9 months finished co. not given vacation so i disided go to final exit .company given family satus but not given medical, only given house rent. i ask you how can calculated benifits and others allowences.
